Learn Business Finance from People Who've Actually Done It
Our instructors have spent years managing real budgets, navigating audits, and helping Australian businesses grow. They bring practical experience to every session—not just theory from textbooks.
Callum Fitzroy
Senior Finance Instructor
Spent twelve years as CFO for mid-sized Australian firms. Now teaches cash flow management and financial planning with examples pulled straight from the trenches.
Niamh Devereux
Lead Business Analyst
Worked with over 80 small businesses across NSW helping them untangle their books. She's patient, direct, and has seen every mistake you can imagine.
How Our Instructors Teach
Real Cases, Not Hypotheticals
Every lesson includes actual scenarios our instructors have faced. You'll work through budgets that went sideways, forecasts that missed the mark, and decisions that had to be made with incomplete data. It's messy and it's real.
Small Group Guidance
Classes cap at fifteen people. That means you get direct feedback on your work, answers to your specific questions, and time to talk through concepts that don't click right away. No lecture halls here.
Hands-On Practice Sessions
You'll spend more time building spreadsheets and analyzing numbers than listening to presentations. Our instructors walk around during exercises, catch mistakes early, and show you better ways to approach problems.
Mentorship Beyond Class Time
Both Callum and Niamh keep office hours twice a week. Bring your laptop, your questions, or even your own business numbers if you want a second opinion. They're here to help you actually understand this stuff.
What You'll Walk Away With
These aren't vague skills. You'll leave with practical abilities you can apply the next day.
Read Financial Statements Without Panic
Balance sheets, P&Ls, cash flow statements—you'll know what each line means and which numbers matter most for decision-making. No more nodding along while your accountant talks.
Build Realistic Budgets That Hold Up
Learn to forecast expenses, plan for contingencies, and adjust when reality doesn't match your spreadsheet. Our instructors will show you the common pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Spot Financial Trouble Early
You'll develop an eye for warning signs—declining margins, cash flow gaps, unusual expense patterns. Catching problems early makes them easier to fix.
Communicate Financial Information Clearly
Whether you're presenting to your team, talking with investors, or explaining numbers to non-finance colleagues, you'll know how to make complex information digestible and relevant.
Make Confident Financial Decisions
Stop second-guessing every expense or investment. You'll have frameworks for evaluating options, weighing risks, and choosing paths that make sense for your situation.
Program Structure and Timeline
Our autumn 2025 program runs for ten weeks, meeting twice weekly in the evenings. Each session is two hours—one hour of instruction, one hour of practice with instructor support.
We've designed the schedule around working professionals. Classes run Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, giving you time to get there from most Sydney offices.
The cohort starts September 9th and wraps up mid-November. You'll cover foundational concepts in weeks one through four, then move into more complex topics like financial modeling and strategic planning in the second half.
